Culture is who we are, what way of life we depict, as well as the way we live. No development can be attainable and sustainable without including culture, in all areas of our activities. UNESCO ensures that the role of culture is recognized through the majority of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including those focusing on food security, quality education, progressing cities, the environment, sustained economic growth, continued production and consumption standards, peaceful and responsive societies, gender equality, and women empowerment.

From cultural heritage to creative industries, culture is both an enabler and a driver of the economic, social, and environmental facets of sustainable development.
